La presente Ley sobre la sobre la ehesa en Extremadura, que es toda finca rústica en la que más de cien hectáreas de su superficie, sea susceptible, según su destino agrario más idóneo, de un aprovechamiento ganadero en régimen extensivo.

This Regional Law establishes the modalities of preparation of the regional documentation for land-use planning in accordance with the decisions of the regional executive bodies. Competent regional authority shall make decisions related to preparation of land-use planning documentation at request of the authorized regional institutions responsible for elaboration and processing of land-use planning documentation, taking into consideration proposals of natural or legal persons related to territorial land-use planning.
This Regional Law regulates relations dealing with land tenure, protection and conservation of land, establishing plenary powers of regional state bodies in this sphere. It establishes minimum (equal to minimum land area authorized for construction in accordance with land-use planning provisions) and maximum (up to 1,500 square meters) public and municipal land areas for plots of land allotted to families for housing construction. It envisages allotment of public agricultural land to citizens with three and more dependent children for family farming and/or subsistence farming.

This Act amends the Development and Planning Act 1974 in provisions concerning powers of the Development Applications Board and granting of planning permission by the Director of Planning. It also inserts new sections on delegation by the Board of powers to the Director and appeal to the Board from decision of the Director.

These Rules, made by the Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(8) of the planning and Subdivision Act, 2010, provide for the constitution of the Town Planning Committee and the procedures of Committee. The Department of Physical Planning may require additional documentation including supporting information for an Environmental Impact Study. The Regulations also concern consideration of applications by the Department and the Town Planning Committee.
