Focusing on one major theme per episode, the podcast interviews and brings together farmers' organizations, social movements, environmental protection and the defense of the commons, as well as researchers and consumer associations. These exchanges between actors from the four corners of the globe enable us to better understand the local and international stakes, the successes and the difficulties of these mobilizations, which all have in common that they are working towards a society based on peasant and feminist agriculture in harmony with ecosystems.

International Statement: World Bank Out of Land!

On the opening day of the World Bank’s 2024 Land Conference, organizations of small-scale food producers, Indigenous Peoples, workers, grassroots communities, and civil society denounce the World Bank as a major actor of land grabbing and ecosystem destruction. They call for effective measures to realize the right to land and territories, including agrarian reform.
Consultancy: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Day Facilitation

The consultant or consultant team will be responsible for designing (in consultation with the Board) and then delivering a day of participatory and comprehensive DEI training tailored to the needs and goals of the Land Portal Foundation Board and Core Team. There will be approximately 17 participants in total. The training should cover topics such as unconscious bias, social norms, cultural competency, privilege, intersectionality, and strategies for creating an inclusive working environment, among others.

For over two decades, the World Bank Land Conference has been an important and necessary forum for the land sector, bringing together participants from governments, development partners, civil society, academia, and the private sector to showcase research, discuss issues and good practice, and inform policy dialogue. The Conference encourages cross-sectoral knowledge exchange and this year, the Land Portal team is eager to attend the relaunched Land Conference from May 13-17, 2024 in Washington, DC.
Opportunity: Postdoctoral Research Grant for Earth Sciences at the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis

A public selection is announced, based on qualifications and interview, for the award of a postdoctoral assignemnt for the performance of research activities inherent to the Scientific Area "Earth Sciences" to be carried out at the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis of the CNR carrying out research within the COOL Project - "System for the Consolidation of L2 products of the PRISMA-SG mission" - Implementing Agreement no. 2023-18-HH.0 of Framework Agreement No. 2018-6-Q.0 - CUP F23C23000160005, for: "Participation in the activities foreseen in the research project COOL - System for the COnsOlidation of L2 products of the PRISMA-SG mission" - The research will focus on the consolidation of L2 products (reflectance), of PRISMA-SG through the refinement of techniques for atmospheric correction and the development of verification/validation processes, as well as through the collection of ground data at sites of interest in Sardinia and other national and international sites. Application and development of techniques for remote data simulation and model inversion for data correction, including through the use of artificial intelligence learning analytical models and techniques. Sensitivity studies and development of remote datum validation criteria, under the scientific responsibility of Dr. Federico Santini.
