The grounds for reserving land for protected areas shall be programs of development and distribution of protected areas validated in accordance with the established modalities. Plots of land destined for protected areas shall be surveyed on site by a special commission with the participation of landowners concerned. This Act, consisting of 54 sections divided into six Parts and completed by one Schedule, aims at finding a compromise between the cultural traditions of the Aboriginal and the need for development of the Northern Territory. The Act establishes the procedure for the registration and protection of sacred sites and prescribes how to protect sacred sites in the planning for the development and use of land. For the purposes of the Act, Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority is established and regulated.

This Ministerial Decree validates the Regulation on State cartographic and geodetic fund and the Regulation on state geodetic survey. State cartographic and geodetic fund shall contain geodetic and cartographic materials and data stored at specialized organization authorized to form, keep and store State cartographic and geodetic fund. This Regulation prescribes the: correct manner of collecting, processing and storing of data obtained by topographic surveying; method for the administration and maintenance of cartographic database; manner of making the official state map of appropriate scale; and further defining all natural and legal persons engaged in the state survey and real estate cadastre mapping.The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Governmental Decree No. 706 validating the Regulation on forest management.

This Governmental Decree establishes the modalities of forest management in public forest, on protected areas and in forests not pertaining to public forest fund. Forest management shall be performed by forest management organization subordinated to state Forest Service. In the process of forest management practice shall be performed mandatory forest inventory. Transfer of low value land areas in other categories. Forest management shall be completed with mapping of forest land.

This Decree underlines that state land cadastre shall be carried out on a single system. This system is composed of geo-botanical and other search-and-research studies on the basis of geodesic, cartographic and topographic data, land use registration, land registration, land evaluation, thematic mapping, inspection and methods for indicators affect adversely the soil fertility and soil quality. These methods and programs shall be approved by the State Committee on Property Issues.
