The purpose of this Act, consisting of eight Parts and one Schedule, is: to ensure that the power to make subordinate legislation is exercised subject to Parliament's authority and control; to regulate the preparation, making, publication and scrutiny of subordinate legislation; to provide for public participation in the preparation and scrutiny of subordinate legislation; to amend the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984 in relation to incorporated documents, the incorporation of amendments and the admissibility of Acts and subordinate instruments.
Sale of Land (Public Auctions) Regulations 2014.
The objectives of these Regulations are: to prescribe standard rules for public auctions for the sale of land; to prescribe written information statements that must be made available for public auctions for the sale of land, and to prescribe how that information is to be made available; and to prescribe the obligations of auctioneers at public auctions for the sale of land. These Regulations are made under section 48 of the Sale of Land Act 1962.

Valuation of Land Regulations 2014.
The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe certain matters for the purposes of the Valuation of Land Act 1960. These Regulations are made under section 52 of the Valuation of Land Act 1960. The following Regulations are revoked: the Valuation of Land (General and Supplementary Valuation) Regulations 2003; the Valuation of Land (General Valuation) (Amendment) Regulations 2006; the Valuation of Land (General and Supplementary Valuation) (Amendment) Regulations 2007; the Valuation of Land (General and Supplementary Valuation) Amendment Regulations 2009.
