This Resolution of Council of Ministers establishes land use planning for industrial area of 'Arcos' within the district of Estremoz (approved by the Municipal Assembly of Estremoz on 10 July 1998). The Annex, consisting of 5 chapters, specifies the Regulation to perform this activity and establishes the requirements to be satisfied, including those involved within pollution control (chap. 5) for land occupation, use and transformation of the aforementioned industrial area.

This Resolution of the Council of Ministers establishes land use planning for the Municipality of Porto. It approves the Regulation on the control, occupation and transformation of land within the whole territory of the aforesaid Municipality. Regulation No. 23445 on non-agricultural use of agricultural areas.

This Regulation (consisting of 20 articles) establishes non-agricultural use of agricultural areas. Allocation of any land other than settlement areas for non-agricultural use is subject to consent of the General Directorate of Rural Services. Class I and Class II agricultural lands can not be used for any other purposes. Also lands that are classified as Class III and Class IV due to insufficient drainage and salinity, but that could be converted in to Class I and Class II by improving can not be used for non-agricultural purposes.

The objective of this Law which includes 25 articles and 2 supplementary articles is to define the procedure for olive improvement efforts. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is the leading agency for establishing, sowing, grafting and establishing gardens for wild species. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs provides land to those who would apply for olive sowing. Seeds will also be provided by the Government on cost basis. These land will be permanently transferred to those who have engaged in olive planting for five years.

The objective of this Law which includes 14 articles is to define the registration procedure of marshy lands. Those who wish to acquire land through drying marshy lands that are not possessed by anyone will apply to the relevant Governor, who shall then ask the Prime Ministry whether drying can be made by the State or not. If so, drying should be made within 4 years otherwise it will be considered as being renounced from this right. If drying will not be made by the State then the case will be communicated to the villages and water users' unions in the area. Priority will be for them.

Purpose of the Law is to ensure urban development, as well as the accomplishment of urban economics and social progress, and to meet the needs of the socialist modernization drive. It consists of six Chapters. In Chapter I (General Provision), it explains that 'urban' means the municipalities directly under the Central Government, the provincial cities and the towns; 'large city' means a city with more than 500,000 population, 'medium size city' means that the population is between 200,000 to 500,000, 'small city' is used for cities where the population is less than 200,000.

There is hereby established a board to be known as the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board and a board to be known as the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board. Part 2 concerns land use planning. Land use planning for a settlement area shall be guided by the the principles set out in section 35. Two Land Use Planning Board are established under sections 36 and 38. Part 3 provides, inter alia for the establishment of Land and Water Boards.

For the purpose of subsection 124(1) of the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act, a regulatory authority or a designated regulatory agency that receives an application for a licence, permit or other authorization required to carry out a proposed development, under a provision of a Federal Act and Regulations or a Northwest Territories Act or Regulations as set out in the Schedules, shall conduct a preliminary screening of the proposed development before the issuance of the licence, permit or authorization.

These Regulations do not apply to a use of land authorized pursuant to grazing or agricultural leases subsequent to its initial clearing, and to harvesting, hunting, trapping or fishing. Regulation 4 specifies activities on land that are prohibited without having a Type A Permit, whereas regulation 5 lists activities for which a Type B permit is required. No person shall deposit material or debris in a watercourse contrary to the Northwest Territories Waters Act or the Fisheries Act, or any regulations made under those Acts (reg.9).
