On the opening day of #COP28, we hosted a thought-provoking webinar that delved into the intricate relationship between land governance and climate resilience, a critical area of immense importance in the context of global climate challenges and sustainable land use practices. This event aimed to unpack the crucial role of inclusive land governance in building climate resilience.
Setting the scene, Richard Sliuzas from the University of Twente launched a scoping study into the land-climate nexus. We then dived into specific elements of this nexus, focusing on inclusive approaches with examples from the ground.
We were excited to bring together a panel of key change-makers in this process, including local government, donors, practitioners, and academia, who reflected on these elements. They not only discussed the challenges and opportunities among themselves but also engaged with the audience's insights, questions, and experiences.
This event was more than a webinar; it was a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collective learning. The insights shared during this session significantly contributed to the ongoing discourse on land governance and climate resilience, providing valuable perspectives for practitioners, policymakers, and academics alike.
