Overview
The World Bank Land Conference is the premier global forum for the land sector, bringing together over 1,000 participants from governments, development partners, civil society, academia, and the private sector to showcase policy-relevant research, discuss technical issues and sector good practice, and inform policy dialogue. The Conference also aims to encourage cross-sectoral knowledge exchange and has incubated numerous investments, initiatives, and research projects led by diverse stakeholders, including the Voluntary Guidelines, the Land Governance Assessment Framework, and the Stand for Her Land Campaign. Land and Climate: Moving from Awareness to Action
The theme of the 2025 World Bank Land Conference is "Securing Land Tenure and Access for Climate Action: Moving from Awareness to Action."
Building on the momentum from the 2024 Land Conference, which highlighted the land sector’s relevance to climate change, the 2025 World Bank Land Conference aims to move from awareness to action by highlighting effective strategies for securing land tenure and access and to scale up land sector initiatives, investments, and policy reforms in support of climate change mitigation and adaption.
Expression of Interest (EOI) to Attend
*New: All those interested in attending the 2025 World Bank Land Conference must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to Attend. All applications, in-person and virtual, will be reviewed, and, if interest exceeds the venue capacity, a lottery system will be used to accept eligible participants for in-person attendance. If accepted, a $400 registration fee will be required for in-person attendance. Virtual-only registration is free of charge for eligible participants whose EOIs demonstrate relevant work or research.

Call for Proposals
The 2025 Call for Proposals invites multi-stakeholder, cross-country session proposals for Thematic Sessions, Global Land Initiative Sessions, and Land Administration Best Practice Sessions, and high-quality academic papers for Research Sessions. Proposals must be complete and submitted by November 15, 2024. Decisions will be communicated by late December 2024.
*New: For the 2025 conference, a $2,000 session organization fee will apply to accepted Thematic, Global Land Initiative, and Land Administration Best Practice sessions, with limited sponsored sessions to support diverse civil society contributions.
Please note: If you wish to submit both a Research and a Session proposal, you will have to create a new account for each submission, we recommend you use the same email address and password for your own convenience.
