This Decree, consisting of 5 articles, creates the Water and Soil Conservation Policy in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, coordinated by the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, in order to stimulate and promote actions aimed at soil and water conservation. This Policy aims to improve the productive, social and environmental relations. Its objectives are: increase the permeation capacity of agricultural land; reduce water erosion rate; decrease the risk of water scarcity from the preservation of water in the soil; develop a technical assistance project and Rural and Social Extension - ATERS, regarding the use and soil and water conservation; promote integrated actions between the State Public Administration, through the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development, Rural Development and Cooperatives Secretariat and the Department of Education; and perform actions in partnership with public and private agencies and entities such as the Riograndense Association of Technical Assistance Projects and Rural Extension and Credit Sulina Association and Rural Assistance (EMATER-NASCAR/RS), the State Agricultural Research of Rio Grande Foundation South - FEPAGRO, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA), the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), the Federation of Associations of Rio Grande do Sul Municipalities (FAMURS) and other institutions, agencies and public and private entities.
