The present Act ensures the survey of land and the approval of plans. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “application for boundary confirmation”, “cadastral parcel mapping system”, “deteriorated monument”, “former land registration district”, “land surveys directory”, “land titles registry”, “lost monument”, “parcel”, “primary survey”, “registered owner”, “re-establishment”, “Registrar of Titles”, etc. Section 4 establishes the Land Surveys Directory. The Act consists of 96 sections divided into 14 Parts as follows: Land Surveys Directory and Controller of Surveys (II); Surveys (III); Integrated surveys and coordinate based surveys (IV); Monuments and protection of monuments (V); Types of plans (VI); Boundary confirmation (VII); Status of directory, searches and evidence (VIII); General (IX); Regulations (X); Transitional and conversion (XI); Amendments (XIII); Repeal (XIV); Coming into force (XV).
