The Regions and the Autonomous Provinces shall provide for the mapping of those zones which fall within their territories where asbestos exist. The criteria and instruments referred to in articles 2 and 3 shall be used to that end. The outcome of that mapping as well as information relative to urgent interventions shall be transmitted to the Ministry of the Environment. As mentioned above, article 2 regulates the procedure and criteria to be followed when mapping is carried out. Firstly, sites where asbestos exist are to be identified and delimited. Secondly, those sites where a restoration intervention is urgent shall be determined. The Ministry of the Environment shall fund those restoration interventions which are particularly urgent.
