This report contains the proceedings of the first workshop of an EC funded project designed to help Malawi obtain the tools, knowledge and capacities to adopt, advance, scale up and roll out solutions towards Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA). The aim of the workshop was to produce qualitative scenarios of Malawi's socio-economic futures, which will help make the analysis and quantitative modelling around CSA more robust and comprehensive. The scenario building process and its stories will also be used to: - Surface and discuss complex questions and uncertainties around issues such as food security, agriculture, policy, climate change, and the impact of climate change in Malawi. - Develop a way forward by identifying options, risks, opportunities and must do's. The project is a collaborative effort by Malawi’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MOAFS), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the CGIAR programme on Climate Change, and Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS).
