El Encuentro de Aliados por la Tierra y Territorio se realizó en octubre de 2015, en la Capitanía de Macharetí, en el chaco boliviano, junto con la Asamblea del Pueblo Guaraní. La actividad, parte de la iniciativa Movimiento Regional por la Tierra y Territorio, reafirmó la necesidad de garantizar las múltiples formas de propiedad colectiva y de territorios en la región.

El Informe 2015 Acceso a la tierra y territorio en Sudamérica es una nueva iniciativa en el marco del Movimiento Regional por la Tierra y Territorio. Transitamos tres años entre sistematizaciones de experiencias inspiradoras de acceso a la tierra, documentos técnicos, encuentros regionales, encuentros de jóvenes por la tierra y articulaciones diversas a favor de la vida rural.

This article uses a unique database on 542 villages in southwestern Darfur to analyze patterns of land reallocation and population change that have emerged as a consequence of the recent conflict. The analysis demonstrates that a displacement from this region alone of more than 300,000 people from three targeted African groups has occurred and that villages have been repopulated by Arab and other African groups. Almost a fourth of all villages have been squatted by newly settled populations.

This paper analyzes real estate market dynamics over the past decade in the city of Ahmedabad, India, with a view to improving the living conditions of the large population living in slums. The paper combines census data, the National Sample Survey, and slum household surveys to review the demand side of the market. Satellite photography was used to estimate the production of both formal and informal housing over the past ten years. Analysis of the execution of the development plan for the Ahmedabad region and town planning schemes shows how the system of housing supply has evolved.

The authors use evidence from a survey of about 1200 beneficiaries of South African land reform to assess the performance of the initial phase of the land reform program. They find that the program has not lived up to the quantitative goals set, but did successfully target the poor. It has led to a significant number of economically successful projects that already generate sustainable revenues.
