Government Lands (Registration) Rules (Cap. 280).

These Rules concern the registration of any assignment of a lease issued under the Government Lands Act where the premium reserved by such lease is payable to the Government by instalments. The Registrar shall not register such lease unless and until the head lease thereof is produced duly endorsed by the Commissioner of Lands, as provided for in subsection (4) of section 24 of the Act. The endorsement shall also be registered under the Act.

Land (Group Representatives) Act (Cap. 287).

This Act makes provision for the incorporation of group representatives of groups formed under the Land Adjudication Act and contains rules relative to the administration of such group representatives and its property and the nomination and powers of the Registrar of Group Representatives. The Minister shall appoint a Registrar of Group Representatives to perform the duties and exercise the powers imposed and conferred on by this Act.

Land Adjudication Act (Cap. 284).

This Act makes provision for the administration of the adjudication of any area of Trust land designated by the Minister. The Minister may designate, by Order, Trust land to which provisions of this Act apply if: (a) the county council in whom the land is vested so requests; (b) the Minister considers it expedient that the rights and interests of persons in the land should be ascertained and registered; and (c) the Land Consolidation Act does not apply to the area.

Registration of Titles (Forms) Rules (Cap. 281).

These Rules prescribe forms for purposes of the Registration of Titles Act. The fees payable in all matters connected with the forms mentioned in rules 2 and 3 wherever applicable of the principal Rules shall be those prescribed by the Minister in the Gazette.

Law No. 14 of 1964 issuing the Cadastre (Land Registration) Regulation.

This Regulation consists of 7 Sections divided into 23 articles. Section I establishes the Cadastre and Documentation Department of the Ministry of Justice and defines its duties. Section II deals with land ownership rights. Section III pertains to booking and registration. Section IV and V define the registration measures. Section VI defines steps and measures for the authentication of signatures, as well as fixes registration fees. Section VII contains temporary provisions.

Resolution No. 2 of 1990 establishing the Complaint Central Committee related to the expropriation of lands for public utilities.

This Resolution is composed of 12 articles. Article 1 deals with the establishment and management of the Central Committee for Complaint related to the land expropriation for public utilities under the control of the Minister of Agriculture and Municipality Affairs. Article 2 defines duties and competencies of the Committee provided for in Law No. 13 of 1988 in particular: ownership expropriation compensations; ownership and owner’s rights of temporary expropriated lands . Article 6 decrees the establishment of the Complaint Register at the Expropriation Department.

Resolution No.1 of 1976 on the land registration (cadastre).

This Resolution is composed of 5 articles. Article 1 establishes the Cadastre Committee with the competence to study the examination result carried out by the Cadastre and Documentation Department and to take the final decision related to the approval or refuse of the land registration. Article 2 deals with the management and internal organization of the Committee. The seat of the Committee shall be established at the Cadastre Department (art. 3). Article 4 decrees the issuance of a regulation for the Committee.

This Resolution is composed of 3 Sections divided into 28 articles. Section I deals with the management; and competencies and duties of the Director of the Cadastre and Documentation Department. Section II provides for the Cadastre (Land Registration). Section III defines registration measures, steps and arrangements which are: (a) applications shall be presented to the Director of Cadastre and Documentation Department who for his part remits it to Cadastre Committee; and (b) the Committee shall examine and revise applications and take the final decision.

Resolution No. 1 of 1990 establishing two committees for estimation and assessment of the expropriated lands for public utilities.

This Resolution is composed of 16 articles. Article 1 decrees the establishment and composition of the Two Committees for the estimation and assessment of the expropriated lands situated into the borders of Doha City and Rayyan and the lands located into the borders of the other towns and villages. Article 2 deals with competencies and duties of the aforementioned Committees. The decisions and recommendations of the Two Committees shall entry into force after the final approval of the Minister of Agriculture and Municipality Affairs (art. 4).

Trust Land (Makueni Area) Rules.

These Rules regulate the occupation of land and the possession, herding or grazing in an area defined in the Schedule to these Rules. A person shall only occupy land or possess, herd or depasture any bull, cow, ox, heifer, calf, sheep, goat, mule, donkey or swine if registered with the Settlement Officer. The Settlement Officer shall be advised on questions covered by these Rules by a committee appointed by him or her under these Rules. A registered person may occupy such area of land and keep a number of stock as is indicated in the register.
