Marcela Vecchione Gonçalves is a political scientist that studies the intersections of land, biodiversity and political subjectivities of traditional communities in tropical areas. Currently, Marcela is an adjunct professor at the Centre for Advanced Amazonian Studies (NAEA) at the Federal University of Pará, Belém, Brazil, where she coordinates the Graduate Programme on Sustainable Development at the Humid Tropics.  Marcela also integrates the research network Properties in Transformation and the Grupo Carta de Belém, in Brazil.
