Sarah Weber is the Communications Coordinator for the Global Restoration Initiative in WRI's Forests program. She works on writing and developing outreach materials, online communications, partner and community management, and media outreach in order to catalyze a political and social movement to restore vitality to degraded lands. Sarah also maintains regular contact with WRI’s Global Restoration Council, a group of high-profile individuals that aim to harness the collective wisdom, influence and energy of its members to catalyze and sustain a global movement for restoration.
Prior to joining WRI, Sarah interned for the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, the World Wildlife Fund, and the International Crane Foundation as a communications and videography intern.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Journalism and History from American University and a M.S. in Environmental Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies.
Sarah is a proud new dog mom and is currently attempting to finish The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
