Founded in 1936 as Les Éditions de l’Université d’Ottawa, UOP began publishing in English during the 1940s. Click here to learn more about UOP's 80-year history.
UOP published more than 1100 monographs and edited volumes since 1936. UOP publishes a dozen books in French and another dozen in English each year. The Future of Open Data flows from a multi-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Grant project that set out to explore open government geospatial data from an interdisciplinary perspective. Researchers on the grant adopted a critical social science perspective grounded in the imperative that the research should be relevant to government and civil society partners in the field.
