Al Jazeera reports on how Eritrean refugees are caught between crisis at home and conflict in the Sudan where there are 126,000 refugees, 11% of the estimated 1.1 million refugees in the country. Bangladesh, with its new Forest Conservation Bill of 2023, is on the brink of a momentous shift in its forest management practices, with two new laws set to revolutionize the sector. These laws, which will replace the colonial-era Forest Act of 1927, have been hailed as a “paradigm shift” and will have a significant impact on the way forest resources are utilized and protected in the country.

The Joint Credit Mechanism REDD+ (JCM REDD+) project will enable Cambodia to maintain the conservation of the Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary. The project is being extended to more than 50 villages around the sanctuary.

The Land Portal Foundation reported another successful year in 2022, making significant progress toward their organizational strategy and monitoring and evaluation framework. According to their annual survey, 87% of users reported a positive impact on their work, while the website continued to receive high traffic, averaging 74,000 visits per month.
