Security Council’s ‘encouraging voice’ very important to Colombian peace process, says UN envoy

Highlighting that the Colombian peace process faced and continues to face a range of challenges but also offers “solid” opportunities, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the country today called on the United Nations Security Council for its continued attention and strong support to the country.


Thousands march against land-grabbing in Bangladesh

Thousands of indigenous people took part in a two-day march in northern Bangladesh to press the government to establish an independent commission to end the problem of land disputes, which often impact minority communities.


The 60-kilometer march from Chapai Nawabganj to Rajshahi city Nov. 15-16 brought together about 3,000 people from dozens of indigenous groups.
