Situaciones Problemáticas de Tenencia de la Tierra en Argentina

El presente trabajo analiza las situaciones problemáticas de tenencia de la tierra, particularmente las que afectan a la pequeña producción familiar. Partiendo del estudio realizado por PROINDER en base a la información del Censo Nacional Agropecuario de 1988, se presentan los cambios de tenencia y estructura de la tierra a nivel nacional incorporando los datos del Censo Nacional Agropecuario 2002. En segundo lugar se realiza una actualización de la información sobre las situaciones problemáticas de tenencia de la tierra identificadas en el trabajo anterior.

This independent evaluation by Emerald Network focuses on land rights, access and sustainable use, through an assessment of five companies: the Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), PepsiCo, Nestlé, Unilever and Associated British Foods’ (ABF) subsidiary Illovo Sugar Africa. As a result of the Behind the Brands campaign, these companies have publicly recognized the risk of people being dispossessed of their land to make way for agricultural commodities and have pledged to respect the rights of women, communities and smallholder farmers.

Mobile phone use is increasing in Sub-Saharan Africa, spurring a growing focus on mobile phones as tools to increase agricultural yields and incomes on smallholder farms. However, the research to date on this topic is mixed, with studies finding both positive and neutral associations between phones and yields. In this paper we examine perceptions about the impacts of mobile phones on agricultural productivity, and the relationships between mobile phone use and agricultural yield.

Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is an important grain legume for food and cash of the smallholder farmers worldwide. However, the total potential benefits to be derived from the common bean as a source of food and income, its complementarities with non-legume food crops, and significance to the environment are underexploited. Intensification of common bean could provide approaches that offer new techniques to better manage and monitor globally complex systems of sustainable food production.
