Land Dispute and Resolution Process Among the Youth Under the Customary System in the Techiman Traditional Area of Ghana

Securing land rights of all including the youth to allow for investment is very imperative. This is because access to land is very fundamental to ending extreme poverty especially in the Sub-Saharan Africa where agriculture remains the economic backbone of majority of households.  To this end, access to fair and timeous land disputes resolution mechanism to adjudicate and resolve disputes which create tenure insecurity is critical. This study investigates land dispute cases and the resolution mechanisms among the youth land holders in the Techiman area of Ghana.

LAND-at-scale remains active in Chad with partners Oxfam, Kadaster International and FAO. The partners work together to develop and test innovative approaches, tools and instruments for land governance in a fit for purpose way. These pilots will be done in two locations, which will contribute to a more transparent and inclusive land management system locally. The results from the pilots are used to inform the legal reform process and strengthen the legal and regulatory framework.

The revised 2023 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) for Sudan, issued on 17 May 2023, addresses the escalating violence across the country since 15 April 2023. The document, consolidated by OCHA on behalf of the Humanitarian Country Team and partners, presents coordinated, strategic efforts and associated costs to meet the acute needs of people affected by the crisis.
