We are a development charity that works with herders and farmers in Africa's drylands (the Sahel region).

To promote the livelihoods of Indigenous pastoralists through preservation of their cultural values, utilization of locally available resources and informed participation with consent for their development. To have Indigenous pastoralist community attain sustainable development and have its culture recognized, respected and preserved

The League for Pastoral Peoples was founded in 1992 to provide relief in an acute crisis experienced by Raika camel pastoralists in India. Its initial mandate was to support pastoral societies and other small-scale livestock keepers to pursue their own vision of development through research, technical support, advisory services and advocacy.

The Rangelands Initiative of the International Land Coalition (ILC) is a global programme facilitating learning between and providing technical support to different actors who are working to make rangelands more tenure secure.

HEKS champions the cause of a more humane and just world and a life in dignity. Internationally, HEKS/EPER focuses on rural community development, humanitarian aid and inter-church cooperation.

From China to America, via Palestine, Africa and Europe, Études rurales explores the main aspects of the rural world through studies on territories, activities, lifestyles, political organisations, representations, beliefs, heritages and perspectives. With contributions from writers of all disciplines, the journal examines the world though academic enquiry as well as history, philosophy and anthropology. The journal is part of a collective effort to find new representations of rural life.
