The purpose of this Act is to prescribe basic matters regarding the designation and management of zones, districts, etc. in relation to the use of land to ensure transparency in the regulation of land use, thereby to reduce the inconvenience of citizens in land use and to contribute to the development of the national economy. In particular, article 15 establishes the Deliberative Committee on the Regulation of Land Use.

This Ordinance establishes the National Trust as a body corporate. The Trust shall safeguard the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the Turks and Caicos Islands through the preservation of areas, sites, buildings, structures and objects of cultural, historical or natural significance. It may, among other things, engage in programmes to preserve and propagate wildlife. The Trust shall be managed by the Trust Council, which may establish district and special committees.

These Regulations set out procedural requirements in relation to the preparation of the review and update of regional planning guidelines by regional authorities. These procedural requirements supplement those already set out in the Planning and Development Act 2000. The Regulations also specify the National Spatial Strategy as being of relevance to the determination of strategic planning policies. A Decree to promote tree planting, regeneration and protection of forests among people in order to increase and enrich forest areas in Lao PDR.
