Esta publicação busca trazer a todos os Municípios brasileiros orientações sobre como incorporar a nova agenda de desenvolvimento, a Agenda de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Agenda 2030) no planejamento e na gestão municipal. Trata-se de uma agenda global para o desenvolvimento humano e sustentável à qual o Brasil, junto com outros 192 países, aderiu em setembro de 2015, e que deve ser implantada até 2030.

Ecuador has submitted two national communications (NCs 2000, 2012) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), providing information on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, and measures to mitigate and to facilitate adequate adaptation to climate change among other information. In 2016, Ecuador also presented its First Biennial Update Report (BUR), which included the REDD+ technical annex to the BUR.

This conmpendium of recent sustainable development initiatives in the field of agriculture and land management has been developed as a supporting document for the Task Manager's Report on the Land and Agriculture Cluster for Chapters 10, 12 and 14 of Agenda 21. The report draws together 75 cases from over 45 countries, illustrating the many features of improved land management and sustainable agriculture and rural development.

Une analyse a été conduite au Niger afin d’évaluer les besoins liés á la gestion de l’eau à usage agricole (GEA) et d’identifier les priorités d’investissements dans le but de réduire la pauvreté en milieu rurale en terme de: recherché; assistance technique; formation; appui aux politiques. La méthodologie a été structurée en cinq phases: (1) Analyse des parties prenantes; (2) Atelier de lancement; (3) Interviews et visites de terrain; (4) Discussion des résultats préliminaires avec l’équipe nationale; et (5) Atelier de validation.

Improved production systems as an alternative to shifting cultivation

Shifting cultivation, under its diverse forms of slash and burn system, is a traditional method of cultivating tropical upland soils, mostly for subsistence purposes. This traditional system of cultivation is in ecological balance with the environment and does not irreversibly degrade the soil resource, provided a sufficient length of fallow is allowed for soil restoration. However, increasing population pressures necessitate more intensive use of land. The consequence is extended cropping periods and shortened fallows.

ولعل النمو السكاني، فضلاً عن اتساع المناطق الحضرية بوتيرة سريعة، إلى جانب التنمية الاقتصادية، تسبب في إحداث ضغط غير مسبوق على المياه، لاسيما في المناطق الجافة. ويشكل الشح المتفاقم في المياه والتنافس على هذا المورد تهديداً رئيساً للتطورات المستقبلية على صعيد الأمن الغذائي والحد من وطأة الفقر، وبخاصة في المناطق الريفية.
