This Act concerns the administration and other aspects of estates subject to intestate succession. The Act deals with aspects of succession such as entitlements of heirs, (agreements on) division of property and sale.

This Act makes provision with respect to matters of inheritance. It adopts, subject to provisions of this Act and to any modifications effected by this Act, so far as applicable to the circumstances of Norfolk Island, the laws relating to the succession to and devolution of real and personal estate on death and to inheritance and to wills in force in New South Wales at the time of the coming into force of this Act, and more particularly the Inheritance Act of 1901 of New South Wales.

This Act concerns the probative status of titles of inheritance drawn up in accordance with the Convention on Conflicts of Laws relating to the form of Testamentary Dispositions concluded at the Hague Conference on Private International Law. The Act also defines some criteria for a properly executed will.

This Act establishes periods of limitation and other limitations for bringing actions of the various classes mentioned in the Act. Section 42 extends the applicability of the Act also to arbitration. Actions include various actions in respect of land: actions to recover land by the Crown or any person and rent; action to recover money secured by a mortgage or charge or to recover proceeds of the sale of land; and actions in respect of trust property or the personal estate of deceased persons and actions for an account.

This Act makes provision with respect to inheritance proceedings. It sets out powers of court for the protection of heirs and inheritance in general. The Court may, upon application make various Orders affecting the inheritance of estates by will for the benefit of family and dependants of the deceased persons.

This Act makes provision with respect to inheritance and in particular concerns the distribution and administration of estates of persons who leave a will but die intestate as to some beneficial interest in his real or personal estate. The Act sets out rules regarding rights of heirs. It also concerns statutory trusts for the purpose of inheritance.

This Act defines powers and limits actions of trustees and other persons appointed in a will, deed or other instrument of settlement or mortgagees to lawfully dispose of land under their control pursuant to rights conferred upon them as trustees or mortgagees.The Act grants powers, subject to conditions a set forth in this Act, to trustees to sell or exchange land indicated in a will, deed or other instrument of settlement.

This Act provides rules relative to the possibility of discharge of debt incurred by heirs of a real estate deriving from mortgage or any other equitable charge. The Act also makes provision with respect of mortgagees in recovering debt and duties of heirs or testators or intestate as regarding debts relating to the estate.

This Act makes provision for various matters relative to real estate property. The matters regulated include: deeds relating to land, validity of transfer of and other legal actions involving real property and related rights, licensing in relation with property leases, Rights and duties of lessors and lessees, charge of rent, actions in relation with benefit derived from timber on leased land and rights and duties relating to inheritance and mortgage.

This Act provides with respect to legal actions relating to recovery of rent or land and places restrictions on the making of entries, distress, action or suit for the reasons as specified in the Act.Legal actions concern the recovery of land or rent, assurances made by tenants in tail of any land, rights of mortgagees and recovery of sums of money secured by any judgement, mortgage or lien. Limitation of action can arise from disability, infancy or unsoundness of mind, absence of persons, etc. Limits in time are specified for various legal actions.
