Estates of Missing Persons (Management) Act 1973 (Cap. 159).

This Act makes provision for the management of estates of a person who disappears without making provision for the administration of his or her estate. Relatives may apply to court for an order which appoints a manager for the estate of the missing person. The Act also makes provision for matters relating to administration and management of the estates such as powers of the manager and control of its operation, appointment of agents and intervention by the Administrator General.

This Act makes provision for the administration of the small estates of deceased persons. The Act defines jurisdiction of specified magistrates to grant probate or letters of administration in respect of small estates of deceased persons and provides, among other things, for application for the grant of probate or letters of administration, revoking of probate or letters of administration and appeals against decisions of a magistrate’s court.

Administration of Estates of Persons of Unsound Minds Act 1951 (Cap. 155)

This Act concerns the administration of estates, including immovable property, of persons of unsound mind and provides for court actions and proceedings for the purpose of establishing administration. The Act also assigns powers to the Chief Justice to make Rules.

This Act provides rules relative to real property and in particular to the lease and disposal of land.The Act prescribes rules relative to the manner of giving effect to equitable interests and powers, creation and disposition of equitable interests, vesting orders and dispositions of legal estates operating as conveyances by an estate owner, leasehold, rights on real property in case of infancy, lunacy or death, common ownership, registration of rights, etc.

The Act also makes provision for the disposal of land subject to this Act and other administration of assets. A testator may appoint, and in default of such express appointment shall be deemed to have appointed, as his or her special executors in regard to settled land, the persons, if any, who are at his or her death the trustees of the settlement thereof, and probate may be granted to such trustees specially limited to the settled land.

The Act regulates inheritance and granting of administration of estates of deceased persons and contains rules regarding administration of such estates. The provisions of this Act shall not apply to or in relation to customary land. 'Estate' in relation to land belonging to the estate of a deceased person, has the meaning assigned to the expression "estate" in section 2 of the Land and Titles Act and includes any freehold or leasehold interest in land within the meaning of section 9 of the Land and Titles Act

This Act consists of 66 sections divided into 6 Parts: Preliminary provisions (I); Application of fundamental principles of the National Land Policy (II); Transfers and hazard land (III); Village lands (IV); Dispute settlement (V); Miscellaneous provisions (VI). The President may transfer any area of village land to general or reserved land for public interest (sect. 4). Village land transfer shall not be transferred until the type, amount and timing of the payment of compensation has been agreed upon. The Minister may declare any area of a village land to be hazard land.
