LAND-at-scale Exchange 2024 Summary Report
After two years of organizing the LAND-at-scale Exchange in Utrecht, the third LAND-at-scale exchange took place from June 9th to June 13th in Uganda, hosted by LAS partner UN-Habitat/ Global Land Tool Network. Nearly 60 LAS country and knowledge partners came together in Kampala to exchange lessons learned and explore common challenges. As of 2024, twelve country projects are being implemented under the LAS program, namely Burkina Faso, Burundi, Chad, Colombia, Egypt, Iraq, Mali, Mozambique, the Palestinian Territories, Somalia, Rwanda and Uganda.
L'État de la sécurité alimentaire et de la nutrition dans le monde 2024
Chaque année, ce rapport de la FAO, le plus consulté, présente le nombre de personnes sous-alimentées dans le monde et préconise des stratégies pour combattre la faim et la malnutrition. Suite à la publication du rapport mondial, de nombreuses statistiques sont désagrégées en rapport régionaux. Le rapport est préparé conjointement avec d’autres agences des Nations Unies, à savoir le FIDA, l’OMS, le PAM et l’UNICEF.

Estudio de caso en torno a la minería aurífera en el Bajo Cauca antioqueño en Colombia que hace parte de la serie “Efectos del extractivismo en América Latina”. Se reflexiona sobre las formas corporizadas en las que las mujeres que habitan el Bajo Cauca antioqueño, en Colombia, experimentan los cambios en el territorio que habitan como cambios que también dejan huellas en sus cuerpos.

This brief consolidates the key findings from a larger Mekong Region Land Governance (MRLG) regional report Towards gender-equitable land policy and law-making in the Mekong Region. The report used consultation processes over the 2024 Land Law as a case study, and involved interviews, participatory consultation pilots, observations of national consultation workshops, and an extensive literature review.

LAND-at-scale Chad 2.0
LAND-at-scale remains active in Chad with partners Oxfam, Kadaster International and FAO. The partners work together to develop and test innovative approaches, tools and instruments for land governance in a fit for purpose way. These pilots will be done in two locations, which will contribute to a more transparent and inclusive land management system locally. The results from the pilots are used to inform the legal reform process and strengthen the legal and regulatory framework.

The evolution of a negotiated territorial development approach
The need for further discussion on territoriality in the context of rural development, driven by the political forces of globalization and the economic and social transformations within nations, comes as no surprise. It arises from the necessity to adapt methodologies, instruments, and activities to meet the new demands imposed by these changes and their unintended consequences. Ultimately, it fosters a fresh perspective on territorial issues, actively involving rural populations in the formulation of novel development outlooks.
