Showing items 1 through 9 of 159.The present Order is made under the Territorial Lands Act. In particular, the purpose of this Order is to withdraw from disposal certain tracts of territorial lands in order to facilitate the conclusion of Aboriginal land agreements.
The present Act requires that 581 First Nations, defined as an Indian band under the Indian Act, make their audited consolidated financial statements and a Schedule of Remuneration and Expenses of chief and council available to their members as well as publish it on a website.
The purpose of the present Act is to encourage the construction of dry docks.
The present Act attempts to facilitate the implementation of those provisions of First Nations’ claim settlements in the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan that relate to the creation of reserves or the addition of land to existing reserves.
The present Act provides for the setting up of experimental farm stations which are scientific research centres that investigate difficulties and potential improvements to food production and agribusiness.
For the purpose of the present Act “Territory” means Yukon or the Northwest Territories, as the case may require.
Together with the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, the present Act establishes the Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal.
The present Act validates the Westbank First Nation Self-Government Agreement between Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada and Westbank First Nation of 3 October 2003. In particular, section 3 establishes that the Agreement is approved and has the force of law.
For the purpose of the present Act “Agreement” means the Maa-nulth First Nations Final Agreement, between the Maanulth First Nations, Her Majesty in right of Canada and Her Majesty in right of British Columbia, including any amendments made to it.
