Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative

SIANI

SIANI is a member-based network that supports and promotes Swedish expertise on sustainable food security and nutrition, in line with the Swedish Government’s policy on global development.


Our membership is diverse and includes representatives from governments, civil society, the private sector and academia. Our network offers an open and interactive platform for exchange on global issues around food security, poverty reduction and environmental sustainability.

Pa-O Youth Organization

PYO

The Pa-O Youth Organization (PYO) was set up on 4th December, 1998 by monks, women and youth who came from various places in the Pa-O areas in Burma. PYO is a member of the Students and Youth Congress of Burma (SYCB) and the Nationalities Youth Forum (NYForum). It is a non-violent independent youth organization striving for peace, justice and democracy in Burma.

 

The main aims of PYO are:

1. To establish a new society based on the principles of peace and justice.

Mon Youth Progressive Organization

MYPO

The Mon Youth Progressive Organization, MYPO, is an independent youth organization which was founded by the youth and students from different places in Mon State with the goals; supporting for democracy, human rights and building a strong civil society for peaceful and democratic change in Burma in 1999. It is temporarily located in Sangkhlaburi in Thai-Burma border. The members of the MYPO are students and grass-root activists who are interested in social and political change in Mon State particularly.

Ta'ang Student and Youth Organization

TSYO

In 1963, the Palaung State Liberation Party (PSLP) started to fight for self-determination and equal rights for the Ta'ang (Palaung) people. In 1991, they made a cease-fire with the Burmese regime. However, some PSLP leaders who were dissatisfied did not accept the cease-fire agreement and formed the Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF) in the Karen area in Manaplaw in 1992.

Cambodian Committee for Women

CAMBOW

The Cambodian Committee for Women (CAMBOW) is a coalition of 35 NGOs and networks dedicated to the advancement of women and children.

CAMBOW is a non-partisan network of Cambodian NGOs that focus primarily on advancing the cause of women. CAMBOW was formally established in 2000 and registered with the Cambodian Ministry of Interior on 29 March 2001 (No 327). It currently consists of 35 members.

Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons

APDP

Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) is a collective of relatives of victims of enforced and involuntary disappearances in Kashmir. Disappearances often end in extra-judicial killings or death by torture. The APDP was formed in 1994 to organize efforts to seek justice and get information on the whereabouts of missing family members. It presently consists of family members of about one thousand victims. APDP actively campaigns for an end to the practice and international crime of involuntary and enforced disappearances at local, national and international platforms.

Cambodian Indigenous Youth Association

CIYA

The indigenous people in Cambodia are living in the remote areas and highlands of Cambodia, especially in the Northeast of Cambodia, including Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kratie, and Preh Vihear, and in the southwest along the cardamom mountains. These provinces are located far from Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The infrastructures in these locations are very poor, but they are rich in natural resources.
