A economia moçambicana tem sido dominada pelo Investimento Directo Estrangeiro (IDE), nos últimos anos, em grande parte destinado ao sector minero-energético. Os empreendimentos desse sector, que no geral têm recebido investimentos iniciais não inferiores a USD 500.000 (quinhentos mil dólares americanos) são definidos como mega projectos.

Em 2008, o Centro de Integridade Pública (CIP) publicou a primeira edição do Relatório de Governação e Integridade em Moçambique (RGIM) com o objectivo de fazer um mapeamento do estado da governação e integridade em Moçambique, e de identificar áreas prioritárias de intervenção e reformas que, ao longo dos anos, pudessem ser monitoradas por actores da sociedade civil e pela comunicação social, em permanente diálogo com o poder público.

Na sequência do Segundo Fórum para a Agricultura Familiar e Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional na Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (FAFSAN II–setembro de 2016), onde a sociedade civil propôs um Pacto Multi-atores para a Governança Sustentável da Terra na Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP), tendo recebido adesão por parte dos diferentes atores também presentes na Mesa de Discussão que debateu este tema (nomeadamente, Mecanismos de participação social no CONSAN-CPLP, incluindo, Mecanismo das Universidades e Centros de Investigação, Mecanismo dos Parlamentares e Mecanis

The Latin American and Caribbean Urban CSO Cluster, part of the Global Land Tools Network (GTLN), together with Habitat for Humanity’s Solid Ground Campaign and the Land Portal Foundation, launched an online debate on Urban Land Conflicts in Latin America and the Caribbean in January 2017. Responding to the common interest to make information easy to access and flow to boost collaboration among stakeholders as a critical basis to improve land governance.

The study was commissioned by the World Bank and conducted by the Center for Land Governance, to document Odisha’s experience and the emerging best practices for Gender Equitable Land Governance (GELG). It assess and analyse the state’s efforts toward GELG in relation to the VGGT, documents the best practices, identifies challenges and suggests recommendations for policy and institutional arrangements, technical issues, capacity building and strategies.

The Constitution of Kenya 2010 apportions responsibility of planning to both National and County governments. The County Government Act, 2012 obligates county governments to prepare and implement County Integrated Development Plans (CIDP). The CIDPs are, according to the act, five year plans that will form the basis of annual budgetary allocation by the county governments.
