This Ministerial Decree designates the State Committee on Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Land Cadastre as the state administrative body subordinated to the Cabinet of Ministers, and shall be responsible for: (a) implementing state policy on land resource management, soil fertility improvement and land surveys and monitoring; (b) state supervision over the rational use and protection of land; (c) geodetic and cartographic activities; (d) state geodetic supervision; and (e) keeping the state land cadastre.

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities for licensing geodetic and cartographic activities carried out by legal persons. Such licences shall be model (simple) and be valid for five years. Licensing terms and conditions shall include: (a) observance of legislation in the sphere of geodesy and cartography; (b) access to geodetic and cartographic equipment and other technical means; and (c) possession of normative and technical documentation regulating geodetic and cartographic activity.

The present Regulations enact section 62 of the Canada Lands Surveyors Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors. The text –consisting of 58 sections - deals with the following matters: nomination of the president and vice-president of the Association, election of council committee, duties and powers of members, licences, permits and offences.

The present Regulation enacts section 385 of the Land Title Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to the registration of land titles and the payment of fees thereof. The present Regulations provide for the enactment of the Land Titles Act. The Regulations apply to transactions and any other matters regulated by the Act and these regulations that have effect or that may have effect in an area of Saskatchewan that the Lieutenant Governor in Council has designated pursuant to section 191 of the Act as an area to which the Act applies.

This Act lays down rules for the registration of surveyors and the carrying out of land surveys of public and private land and provides for the establishment of the Land Surveyors Board. The Act also provides for government survey, defines powers of government surveyors and provides for the protection of survey marks.

This Decree sets forth the modalities for protecting survey control points, stipulating that a protection zone shall be the plot of land on which the survey control point is located plus one meter in each direction. Any activity that may damage or alter the location of the survey control point or hamper its functionality shall be prohibited. In case of necessity servitude shall be applied in accordance with the modalities established by civil legislation.

This Ministerial Decree establishes the requirements for licensing land surveys and topographic, geodetic and cartographic activities. Licensing of topography, geodesy and cartography shall be carried out by the central body of the authorized state institution for land resources. Licensing of land surveying shall be carried out by the local self-government branch of the of the authorized state institution for land resources. Licences under this Decree shall be open-ended and non-transferable.

Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Georgia on cooperation in the sphere of geodesy, cartography and geoinformatics.
