This thematic issue on land tenure and disaster risk management (DRM) stems from the recent work done at FAO on normative aspects of land tenure governance that address natural disasters through the DRM framework. The Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security provide, among other issues, guidance on improving tenure governance and strengthening tenure security of vulnerable people in line with the DRM framework.

Actualmente el Gobierno se dedica a impulsar una Cruzada Nacional Contra el Hambre y a la disminución de la pobreza extrema. La cooperación con la FAO contribuye a consolidar la presencia de México como país con responsabilidad global en temas estratégicos para la seguridad alimentaria y el desarrollo agropecuario.

FAO’s programme in India is primarily guided by GOI priorities and further shaped by FAO’s corporate priorities that play a catalytic role in supporting India to: (i) reduce rural poverty; (ii) promote inclusive and efficient agricultural and food systems; (iii) eradicate hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition; (iv) provide goods and services from agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in a sustainable manner; (v) increase resilience; and (vi) provision of global goods. In doing so, FAO will also address cross-cutting issues such as gender and climate change.

Este Manual es un recurso particularmente oportuno. Combina relatos descriptivos de las experiencias nacionales e internacionales en las inversiones agrícolas con directrices operativas prácticas sobre cómo diseñar estrategias agrícolas para el desarrollo, que capitalicen de manera efectiva las propiedades únicas del crecimiento agrario y el desarrollo rural con la participación de hombres y mujeres como un recurso de alto impacto para la reducción de la pobreza.

Los SAF son un conjunto de tecnologías de manejo de suelo, agua, nutrientes y cultivos agrícolas y forestales que bajo un manejo integrado proporcionan importantes beneficios ambientales, productivos y socioeconómicos.

The Agricultural Water Solutions Project aims to unlock the potential of smallholder farming by identifying, evaluating and recommending a variety of agricultural water management (AWM) solutions - including technologies as well as the necessary supporting policies, institutions, financing arrangements and associated business models. This is being achieved through a series of interlinked activities in the seven project sites in Africa (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia) and in India (Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal).

The objective of the CPF is to identify priority areas for FAO’s support and formulate the implementation plan for the 2012-2016 period. FAO’s priority areas are selected based on Viet Nam’s Socio-Economic Development Strategy (2010-19), strategic development plans of agriculture, forestry and fishery in Viet Nam and the strengths and experience of FAO Viet Nam.

Land Tenure Working Paper 2. This document analyzes the implications for land tenure and land policy of climate change. It assesses the implications of ongoing anthropogenic climate change resulting from greenhouse gas emissions for land tenure and the role that land policy can play in climate change adaptation planning in the developing world.

The publication aims to provide a broad range of data and statistics on forests, and the impact and benefits that forestry has on our environment. It also offers some general information and data about the impact forests and forestry can have in mitigating the effects of climate change, as well as information concerning how they are, in turn, affected by climate change.
