Support to the Implementation of the New Land Laws in Malawi

The project supports the government per their request in awareness raising for national, district and local structures on the provisions of the new land laws, which will enhance their contributions towards the development of their implementation standards and guidelines and the actual implementation. The project will specifically build on support for women targeted with training in advocacy, confidence building and group dynamics to prepare them for the implementation of the new laws. The project will continue to raise awareness of the Voluntary Guidelines for the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT), Principles of Responsible Investment in Agriculture (RAI) and Food Systems and the Right to Adequate Food Guidelines (RtF), which have positively contributed to the enactment of the laws and their understanding in a number of districts.
