MNA: Operational Experience Sharing
The session brought together diverse operational experiences from the MNA region, focusing on urban and land management challenges and advancements. Key presentations included Egypt’s strategies for urban and land management, highlighting the country’s approach to navigating complex urban environments. Djibouti shared its progress in building a comprehensive land administration system, particularly addressing the challenges of informal settlements in urban areas. The Palestine Territories presented significant advancements in property registration and efforts to enhance women’s land rights, reflecting a commitment to equitable land access. Lebanon showcased the current state of its land administration and geo-information sector, underlining the importance of modernizing systems to support effective governance. Additionally, a detailed account of the digitalization process of 25 million cadastral records demonstrated a regional move toward modernization and improved land information systems. Collectively, these presentations offered practical insights into the opportunities and obstacles faced in strengthening land administration, aiming to foster sustainable urban development and equitable land access across the region.
