The Long title is changed as per possession, sale, transport; Section 16A is added , dealing with the provisions for transporting tea; Section 45 has been replaced with new text and provides penalties to offences under this Act; Section 48 of the principal enactment is repealed and replaced by a new one on the Compounding of Offences.

This Law consists of 5 Chapters divided into 52 articles: Definition of agricultural ownership (I); Distribution (II); Agricultural relations (III); Agricultural cooperative societies (IV); Miscellaneous articles (V).Terms and definitions are given in article 1. This Decree specifies instructions that apply to farming and horticulture. In the storage and use of animal manure, Annex 1 must be complied with, in addition to what is laid down in sections 4-6. Annex 3 also makes recommendations on procedures related to the use of animal manure. Instructions concern storage of animal manure, application of animal manure on land amounts of fertilizer to be used, location of sheds and outdoor yards for animals, and analysis of nitrogen analysis. Farmers must keep a record of the amount of nitrogen fertilizers used on their fields and of crop yields.

Part I, Management of forests and forested lands: provisions are made on social and community forestry in order to preserve, manage, maintain, rehabilitate forests and forested lands by maen of strategic planning, appointing Directors of Forestry to organize, supervise and implement the plans, encouraging investments in forestry industrial production.

The purpose of these Regulations is to establish and prescribe minimum standards for soil quality, to establish minimum standards for the management quality of soil intended for agricultural use, the establishment of criteria and procedures for the measurement and determination of soil quality and to issue measures and guidelines for soil management. The standards are prescribed in the First Schedule. The Second Schedule contains the guidelines for the management of fragile or particular soils.

These Rules introduce various prohibitions regarding use of sloping land and introduce other measures regarding the prevention of soil erosion on such land. They shall apply to all land in Kenya except plots of not more than two acres used for residential purposes within a municipality, a former township a or a township an shall not apply to lands used for recreational purposes.
