An Act to provide for the sustainable use of land and natural resources on it.The text of Part I consists of 18 sections divided into 7 Chapters: Purposes of the Act (I); Application sphere of the Act (II); Land use authorities in municipalities and counties (III); Protection of cultivation and arable land (IV); Partition of agricultural land (V); Expropriation and valuation (VI); Miscellaneous provisions (VII).Chapter IV provides for the protection of agricultural use of land and the protection of agricultural land against misuse by men.

Cette loi modifie certains articles du décret-loi portant les dispositions relatives à l'aménagement urbain et du territoire. Il s'agit notamment des articles 21, 26 et 37. Le premier est relatif aux plans régionaux d'aménagement, où figurent l'affectation dominante des zones principales de la région, en fonction, notamment, de leur aptitude culturale, pastorale, forestière, urbaine ou industrielle; les emplacements approximatifs réservés aux principaux équipements d'intérêt régional et le tracé approximatif des voies et communications.

Principal aims and objectives of the Plan are: (a) to provide an updated and simplified plan for the area of Great Lakes; (b) to protect and enhance the environmental qualities of the area; (c) to promote the well-being of the area's population; (d) to provide a land use framework to guide the future use of the land within the area of Great Lakes; (e) to provide a basis for the preparation of detailed development control plans; (f) to improve opportunities for ecologically sustainable development; (g) to provide for the cultural needs of and the equitable provision of services and facilitie

This Ordinance regulates the alienation of State land. For this purpose, it makes provision for the appointment of a Land Commissioner who shall be responsible for the general supervision and control of all Government Agents and land officers in the administration of State land and in the exercise of the powers conferred upon them by the Ordinance.Chapter IV establishes conditions and principles governing the alienation by permit or grant and the criteria for the calculation of the annual payment.

An Act to provide for the improvement of coastal zone management in Belize through the establishment of a Coastal Zone Management Authority and a Coastal Zone Management Institute; to provide for the establishment of a Board of Directors to control, and manage the affairs of the Authority; to provide for the preparation of a Coastal Zone Management Plan to provide for the establishment of mechanisms to improve the monitoring of various activities within the coastal zone; to provide for the payment of fees and charges related to the use of the coastal zone; and to provide for matters connect

The provisions of this Decree of the Ministry of Environment apply to all activities which comport a change in the natural environment or the landscape including drilling for oil and industrial activities. As a rule, plans for such activities shall be submitted for approval to Department at least 1 year before they are implemented (sect. 2). The Department may require modification of plans and appoint an inspector (sect. 3). The Department shall supervise activities and prevent pollution of natural resources. In accordance with provisions of section 9 the Department may withdraw approval.

This Decree makes further provision for assessment on the environment, natural resources, and public health of operations covered by Act relative to planning and construction. Operations listed in Annex I shall always be accompanied by an impact assessment. Section 4 lists criteria for the application of the impact assessment requirement on operations listed in Annex II. One of the criteria is the potential harm an operation can do to a protected area.

This Act establishes National Planning for Coastal Zone Management. It consists of 13 articles laying down competencies and duties of the aforementioned national administration. It also lists sanctions to be paid by offenders in case of environmental areas pollution, according to article 14 of Act No. 6.938.

This Act establishes land use planning for industrial establishment. It consists of 14 articles defining different industrial areas and laying down the requirements to be met in order to perform industrial activity. It also concerns preventive measures to be applied by Federal Power in order protect natural environment and establishes competent authority entitled for carrying out controls on these industries and issuing the authorization for performing their activity.

The Decree aims at ensuring the uniform, effective and proper use of State property.
