This Decree lays down provisions governing the use of nitrate fertilizers for agricultural purposes. Further it lays down an action programme to be implemented in zones vulnerable to nitrates. The aim is to guarantee the protection of the environment.
This Regional Act provides for the reclamation and improvement of abandoned or uncultivated lands and lands which are insufficiently cultivated, within the environmental protection framework. Article 2 gives the definition of abandoned land, uncultivated land and insufficiently cultivated land.
The aim of this Regional Act is to minimize abandonment of agricultural lands in the regional territory. To this end it established the Regional Database on Agricultural Lands, which shall include all abandoned lands and pastures available for lease or concession.
By virtue of this Act the Region of Marche recognizes the role of farmers as protectors of biodiversity and the environment. The Act promotes the protection of local traditions in the field of agriculture and aims to prevent the abandonment of agricultural lands and activities.
