Myanmar - aquaculture and inland fisheries:
Ranong is the second largest Burmese community in Thailand, where many migrants work in the fishing and its related industries. However, the community has been hit by an economic downturn in part caused by the loss of fishing concessions from Burma.
An account is given of activities implemented during the Technical Cooperation Programme project 'Reformulation and strengthening of fisheries statistics system' in Myanmar which included the following: 1) computer training for staff; 2) species guide for field enumerators and for training purpos
