It is named after its administrative centre - the city of Sofia, which is also the capital of Sofia City Province and Sofia Province and the capital of Bulgaria as well.

The LAND Project is a five year program supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Institute of Legal Practice and Development(ILPD) was established by the Law No. 65/2013 0F 27/08/3013 Establishing ILPD, and was assigned to provide legal professional education to persons holding at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, provide training to those working in the field of justice and in related fields, promote research and disseminate law, collaborate with other institutions of learning and research in Rwanda and abroad, and support any other initiative that may contribute to the promotion of law and justice.

The Rwanda Initiative for Sustainable Development (RISD) is a civil society organization that is headquartered in Kigali City, in Rwanda. RISD is governed by a Board of Directors, and is managed by its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Annie Kairaba.

The Mon Youth Progressive Organization, MYPO, is an independent youth organization which was founded by the youth and students from different places in Mon State with the goals; supporting for democracy, human rights and building a strong civil society for peaceful and democratic change in Burma in 1999. It is temporarily located in Sangkhlaburi in Thai-Burma border. The members of the MYPO are students and grass-root activists who are interested in social and political change in Mon State particularly.
The National Institute of Statistics (NIS), which is part of the Ministry of Planning, is the focal point on statistical matters in Cambodia. The NIS compiles and consolidates statistics provided by decentralized offices and also collects primary data through household and establishment surveys and population, agricultural and economic censuses. Many development partners financially and technically assisted NIS since 1993.
