As reservas extrativistas, um dos legados do movimento organizado dos seringueiros do qual Chico Mendes foi um dos grandes protagonistas, foram idealizadas como proposta de desenvolvimento para Amazônia e para os povos da floresta, alternativa ao modelo estatal hegemônico, de características ambientalmente predatórias e socialmente excludentes. Desde o assassinato de Chico Mendes em 1988 foram criadas 88 reservas extrativistas (sendo 62 federais e 26 estaduais).

The webinar on Women Inheriting Land: Rights and Realities took place on 22 February, 2019.

The objective of this webinar was to discuss the significance of owning land through inheritance, the challenges that prevent women from inheriting land, the opportunities offered through the best practices and the possible actions that can be taken at different levels.

The Landesa Center for Women’s Land Rights developed the Women’s Land Tenure Framework to assist anyone who is interested in understanding the complex issues associated with women’s land rights — officials, grassroots organizations, international technical advisers, policymakers, development practitioners, women’s rights advocates, land rights advocates, people who are developing programs to assist women farmers, people who are concerned with food security, and others.

In October 2016, women farmers from 22 countries across Africa climbed the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro to claim women’s rights for access to and control over land and natural resources. This event coincided with the launch of a campaign of the African Land Policy Centre (ALPC) to reach the target of having 30 percent of all registered land in the name of women by 2025 and to embed women’s land rights into the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Women need secure access to and control of land in order to realise their human rights. In order for the women to realise their land and inheritance rights it is important for the policy makers to have in place mechanisms and institutions to guide practice. This report sets out the status of women’s land and inheritance rights in Lesotho. The aim is to provide a consolidated baseline which can inform policy making, implementation and monitoring.

This Act amends various written laws including the Forest Act, 2002 (in respect of fines), the Veterinary Act, 2003 (in respect of qualifications for registration as a Veterinarian), Wildlife Conservation Act (in respect of fines for illegal activities regarding trophies), the Courts (Land Disputes Settlements) Act, 2002 (in respect of appeals) and the Probate and Administration of Estates Act (in respect of the definition "small estates").

This Regulation hereby officially suspends the decision that previously granted the use of land plots (farmland, forests, buildings and moveable property) for which the effective recognition and restoration decisions have been made as compensation for the recognized successors of the former kings Ferdinand I and Boris III (also suspends the exploitation and construction activities).

This Act provides rules concerning how property passes on a person‘s death. This includes reforms which relate to the rectification of wills; the effect of divorce, dissolution or annulment on a will or special destination; and the revival of a revoked will.
