In order to maintain, develop and expand bilateral cooperation in mining and related areas, the two Parties agreed to establish a joint committee for bilateral cooperation in mining. The Committee held meetings every two years to coordinate the cooperation between the two parties. The Parties further agreed to carry out cooperation in the fields of: geological survey and mineral exploration technology; legislation encouraging mining investment; mining environmental legislation and sustainable development; development of new technology and equipment in the mining sector; the export of mineral products; technology transfer and training in modern geological mapping; mineral resources evaluation; the development of geological mineral database and geographic information system, and its application in resource management and land use.
