La présente loi a pour objectifs affichés de faire de l'alimentation la priorité de l'agriculture et de la pêche à travers une politique globale de l'alimentation, de renforcer la compétitivité de l'agriculture et de contribuer à la stabilisation du revenu des agriculteurs, notamment par la conclusion de contrats écrits avec les acheteurs et une meilleure couverture des risques. Le rôle des interprofessions agricoles est consolidé et il en est de même de celui des organisations de producteurs.

These Regulations amend the Agriculture (Cross compliance) (No. 2) Regulations 2009 so as: (a) to remove the Environment Agency as a competent control authority for specified requirements; and (b) to provide that the Secretary of State may give an exemption from the rules on overgrazing and supplementary feeding, management of land not in agricultural production and the control of weeds. The Regulations also make a minor amendment to the Common Agricultural Policy Single Payment and Support Schemes (Integrated Administration and Control System) Regulations 2009.

This Code of Good Agricultural Practice addresses issues related to the protection of waters affected by nitrate pollution deriving from agricultural sources. It is divided into four Parts as follows: the first Part (A) concerns fertilizers and aims at assisting farmers in implementing friendly practices towards the environment in a way that income by their crops may be secured and also that the environment can be protected. In particular it aims at avoiding pollution of underground and surface waters from the accumulation of nitrates through water infiltration or surface runoff.

With the purpose of aligning the Cypriot legislative framework with Council Directive 91/676/EEC, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by article 7(2)(a) and (b) of the Water Pollution Control Laws of 2002-2009, is hereby issuing this Order, with which, the area of Orounda (Ορούντα), as shown on the map attached herewith, shall be established as a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone affected by nitrate pollution deriving from agricultural sources.

These Rules, made under section 11 of the Commonage Act, concern commoners in the Savannah Sound area. The Rules require commoners to register with the Commissioner and specify conditions for registration as a commoner and the application for land by a commoner. The Rules also, among other things: regulate elections and meetings of commoners; provide rules regarding the setting of fire to land; provide for resolution of disputes between commoners in relating to the use of land by the Land Policy Committee; and secure free access to water resources by commoners.
