This Law consists of 11 Chapters divided into 74 articles: Plans (I); Preparation of plans and their approval (II); Official Maps (III); Use and classification of zones (IV); Public utilities (V); Land subdivision (VI); Buildings (VII); Re-planning of blighted and underdeveloped areas (VIII); General rules (IX); Sanctions (X); Provisions and final rules (XI).Terms and definitions are given in article 1. This Law consists of 7 Chapters divided into 56 articles providing for land registration and survey. Chapter I deals with the judge and assistants entrusted to write, record and delimit lands. Chapter II provides for recording operations and temporary definition of lands. Chapter III concerns with authorizations and objections. Chapter IV relates to the confirmation of temporary delimitations abd objection liquidations. Chapters V and VI contain general and temporary provisions. Chapter VII deals with offences and penalties.

This Act consists of 7 Parts: Preliminary (I); Acquisition (II); Reference to an Appeals Board and procedure thereon (III); Apportionment of Compensation (IV); Payment (V); Temporary Occupation of Land (VI); Miscellaneous (VII).The Act provides a legal framework for the acquisition of private land by the government for the benefit of the public. Procedures and requirements for the acquisiton of land are set out in detail in the text. The Act further provides for the constitution of one or more Appeal Boards for the purpose of hearing appeals in respect of any award made by the Collector.

The present Law regulates conditions and modalities of ownership, use and disposal of immovables as well as relations regarding other rights relayed to immovables. Relations connected with use and conservation of soil, subsoil, forests, vegetable kingdom and wildlife, water, airspace, territories on which monuments pertaining to cultural heritage are situated are regulated by the present Law and other legislative acts of the Republic of Armenia. Legal status of immovables regards also marine, fluvial-marine and fluvial vessels subject to compulsory state registration.

Decision No. 16/2004/QD-BTNMT prescribing the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Southern Cadastral Research Sub-Institute.
