De veranderingen op zee gaan snel. Aan de ene kant neemt de wens voor bescherming van het marine milieu toe, aan de andere kant vormen goederen en diensten van de zee een groeiende bron van inkomsten. In het beheer van de zee is sprake van een veranderende rol van de overheid, met name de verdeling van regulerende overheden over schalen van lokaal nationaal en regionaal naar Internationaal in EU verband – maar ook in bijvoorbeeld OSPAR en Noordzee verband.

On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall near Rockport, Texas as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of approximately 200 km/hour. Harvey caused severe damages in coastal Texas due to extreme winds and storm surge, but will go down in history for record-setting rainfall totals and flood-related damages. Across large portions of southeast Texas, rainfall totals during the six-day period between August 25 and 31, 2017 were amongst the highest ever recorded, causing flooding at an unprecedented scale.

In trying to influence spatial development, people engage in discussions about distinctions between places or areas, and the roles of government and society, while they need to relate to other groups of stakeholders. In other words, boundaries (between meanings of places, between government and society, and between different groups of people) are omnipresent in spatial governance. Does the peri-urban area belong to the city or to the countryside? Can nature be integrated into farming? What should be the role of governments in relation to bottom-up initiatives?

Voor de Natuurverkenning 2011 onderzoekt het Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving vier streefbeelden voor natuur. Eén van deze streefbeelden is Beleefbare natuur. Stadsparken zijn een belangrijke omgeving waar burgers natuur kunnen beleven. Om de uitwerking van het streefbeeld te ondersteunen, werd een serie van tien verkennende interviews uitgevoerd over ‘Het Park van de Toekomst’.

Het doel van dit onderzoek is voor het Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving het actualiseren van een landelijke grondprijskaart 2001 en een landelijke eigendomskaart 2004. Om te komen tot een landelijke eigendomskaart hebben we diverse bronbestanden verzameld en bewerkt. De gegevens van het Kadaster zijn het meest voor de hand liggende bronbestand, maar deze kwamen door de hoge verstrekkingskosten niet in beeld voor dit project.

Sinds 2007 is het Investeringsbudget Landelijk Gebied (ILG) het nieuwste wapen in de strijd tegen vastgelopen beleidsprocessen en bureaucratisering in het plattelandsbeleid. Decentralisatie van instrumenten en geld naar provincies, zevenjarige prestatiecontracten en meerjarenprogramma’s moeten de uitvoering van dit beleid stimuleren. Het ILG omvat twee sturingswerelden: gebiedsgerichte samenwerking (governance) en contracten (prestatiesturing). Maar, gaan deze werelden in de praktijk ook samen? Studie uitgevoerd in het kader van de Routeplanner 2010 > 2050:”Naar een Klimaatbestendig Nederland”. Een duurzame gebiedsontwikkeling in het Groene Hart, hoe krijgt dat vorm, rekening houdend met klimaatverandering. Want: De ambitie om de problemen in het Groene Hart aan te pakken is volop aanwezig. De vraag die overblijft, is: Is straks (zeg 2050) het Groene Hart wel voldoende klimaatbestendig ingericht. Daarover gaat dit rapport.

The study focuses on analyses of major development problems related to livelihood and natural resource management in the Northern Uplands of Vietnam (NUV). The study was conducted in Suoi Con, a small agro-forestry watershed with the total area is about 1760 ha. The watershed is characterized by a high poverty rate and low agricultural production and household income. Livelihood of the households is dependent upon self-sufficient agricultural production, which accounts for nearly 80% of the total production value.

Finding solutions for complex societal problems requires cross-boundary collaboration between multiple stakeholders who represent various practices, disciplines and perspectives. The authentic, multi-stakeholder Regional Learning Environment (RLE) is expected to develop higher education students’ capabilities for working in multi-stakeholder settings. However, the effectiveness of the RLE, including its typical cross-boundary learning environment characteristics, has not been investigated.

This Order amends the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992. Article 3 substitutes class 6H of Part 1A of the Schedule to the 1992 Order to provide permitted development rights for the installation, alteration or replacement of an air source heat pump on or within the curtilage of a dwelling.
