Town and Country Planning Act (No. 17 of 1975).
The Act makes provision for town and country planning and the control of development. "Development" in this Act means "carrying out of building, engineering, mining or other operations in, over, or under land or the making of any material change in the use of any buildings or other land or the subdivision of land". The 40 sections are divided into 5 Parts: Administration (I); Development plans (II); General Planning Control (III); Acquisition of land and compensation (IV); Miscellaneous (V).
