This Ordinance regulates the mapping of the boundaries of land owned privately or by the State and the application of provisions related therefore.

These Regulations implement the Land Titles Act by providing in details for requirements for registration, surveys and descriptive plans.

The present Law determines legal basis for the regulation of state land cadastre, land monitoring and land survey. The document consists of VI Secs. that contain 25 Arts. This Act concerns the management of Crown lands, i.e. all or any part of the lands vested in the Crown that are under the administration and control of the Minister and includes any water upon or under the surface of such lands and of forest and forest resources. The Act provides for surveys, for alienation and acquisition of land, including leases of Crown lands and acquisition of land by the Minister. The Act also provides for Crown timber licences, sub-licences and timber permits, the sale of timber and related royalties.

Under section 1, the purpose of the Act is to provide a system for the registration of the title to land in the Province and instruments related thereto and to provide statutory authority for guaranteed land title. This regulation provides for the description of parcels of land for the purposes of the Land Titles Act. The regulation defines the standards for description by a plan, the standards for metes and bounds description and provides details on the statement of interests that benefit a parcel.

These Regulations make provision for the maps, plans or drawings which are required to accompany an application by a community body to register an interest in land. If the application is granted the maps, plans or drawings are to be entered in the Register of Community Interests in Land. The Schedule to the Regulations requires that the maps, plans or drawings use a metric scale corresponding to a scale used by the Ordnance Survey for that land, are taxative and show a north point.
