Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulation 1998.

This regulation implements the Community Services (Torres Strait) Act 1984. It consists of 68 sections and is divided into 12 Parts. Part 2 is dedicated to the Island councils, their composition and their membership, Part 3 to the chairpersons of Island councils and Part 4 to the election of Island councils. Part 5 concerns councils’ meetings, Part 8 regulates Island courts and Part 9 the Island Coordinating Council. The regulation is completed by five schedules that provide further for the operation of the bodies regulated in the text.

These standards implement the Community Services (Aborigines) Act 1984. They provide standards for Aboriginal councils that are, by law, requested to develop and implement a system for managing financial information (sect. 3). Part 3 concerns accounting and Part 4 internal control and internal audit. The standards are completed by two schedules: minimum period for keeping financial information and dictionary.

This Act concerns Aboriginal communities that live in Queensland and provides them support, administrative services and assistance. It consists of 187 sections and is divided into 15 Parts. Part 2 concerns the administration of the Act, Part 3 describes the powers of intervention of the State in matters related to Aboriginal matters. Part 4 provides for the incorporation of Aboriginal councils and regulates their operation. Part 8 is dedicated to the Aboriginal Coordinating Council and Part 9 to the Aboriginal Industries Board.

This Act provides for the conservation of Queensland’s cultural heritage, it consists of 15 Parts divided into 198 sections. The purposes of the Act are set in Part 1, Part 2 concerns the Queensland Heritage Council, which is a body corporate and does not represent the State. The Act regulates the operation of the Council. Part 3 is dedicated to the heritage register and its maintenance, Part 4 to the registration of places and Part 5 to the registration of archaeological places in Queensland heritage register.

This Regulation, consisting of nine sections, implements the Queensland Heritage Act 1992. It specifies the contents of the application procedure for entering a place in the heritage register (sect. 4), the declaration of protected areas (sect. 6), provides the forms to be used under the Act and sets the fees to be paid. The Regulation is completed by three Schedules specifying the protected areas, setting the values of fees under the Act, etc.
