This Law, consisting of 3 Chapters divided into 22 articles, establishes the principles, guidelines and objectives of the Territorial Development Policy of the State of Bahia, and creates the State Council of Territorial Development (CEDETER) and the Territorial Sustainable Development Collegial Agencies (CODETERs). It establishes spaces of social participation and relationship between the representations of the civil society and government authorities federal, state and municipal. It also establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of CEDETER, entitled to: participate in the process of discussion and elaboration of the State of Bahia Territorial Development Policy, ecological zoning, etc.; to submit proposals for the formulation, implementation and coordination of public policies and sectoral plans for economic, social, regional or metropolitan areas; to elaborate proposals and qualification of the mechanisms of social participation in the management of public policies of territorial development, etc.
