La familia Aquino Poma decide retornar al campo y aprovechar la propiedad familiar de los Aquino. Gracias a un acuerdo, no dividen la propiedad entre los hermanos y se hacen cargo de toda la producción, construyen 10 qotañas (atajados) para la reserva de agua y de esa forma viabilizan la producción agrícola y pecuaria de su predio.

A Serrinha, trata-se de uma área de terra da União Federal, grilada e denominada Fazenda Serrinha, na Gleba Garimpo. A área foi ocupada em 15 de maio de 2012, por 34 famílias sem-terra da região de Araguaína/TO e Barra do Ouro/TO. A Serrinha está situada na Gleba Serrinha, no município de Barra do Ouro, distante 12 km do centro urbano e aproximadamente há 130 km de Araguaína.

Objectives of this photo story are to collate updated data and information to identify and describe key issues and processes revolving around land in the Mekong region and to provide a basis for constructive dialogue and collaborative decision-making with different actors to address these issues.

Growing numbers of policies and programmes aim to integrate small-scale rural producers into agricultural value chains. But significant questions remain over how best to: recognise the possibly divergent visions, interests and constraints of various actors; address often substantial power imbalances; and ultimately promote agency among rural producers and their communities – that is, their ability to choose, act and influence realities around them.

Analyzes land tenure dimensions of migrations in rural areas, especially accommodation and integration mechanisms, as well as emerging strategies. Highlights the local changes of which both natives and migrants are the main stakeholders.

Focuses on women’s perceptions of land rights in the communal areas of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape. Explores the links between patriarchal social systems and women’s conservative attitudes towards holding land and shows how current policy processes and legislation allow local customs to continue to entrench gender discriminatory practices.
