Foreshore Development Act (Cap. 90).

This Act concerns the protection and development of the foreshore, e.g. the land below mean high water mark and the bed of the sea within the territorial waters of Vanuatu (including the ports and harbours thereof) and including land below mean high water mark in any lagoon having direct access to the open sea. No person shall undertake or cause or permit to be undertaken any development on the foreshore of the coast of any island in Vanuatu without having first obtained the written consent to such development of the Minister responsible for town and country planning.

These Rules regulate the procedure to be followed for hearings in Wales caused by the National Assembly for Wales to be held before it, or an inspector, determines appeals made to it against enforcement notices, listed building and conservation area consent enforcement notices and non-determination of applications for a certificate of lawful use development on or after 1 June 2003. Rule 4 provides for the preliminary procedure to be followed, in particular the information to be provided by the local planning authority, on receipt by it of a notice that a hearing is to be held.

This Order removes burdens on processors of, and those bodies substantially representative of growers of, home-grown sugar beet by repealing, in so far as it extends to England and Wales, section 68 of the Food Act 1984. Section 3 obliges inter alia the Secretary of State and the National Assembly for Wales, after consulting such processors and representative bodies, to prepare an annual programme for the carrying out of research and education in matters affecting the growing of home-grown beet.

These Regulations: (a) add to Schedule 2 the activities "management of ancient wood pasture" and "spring cropping" (reg. 2(5)); (b) add to Schedule 3 (capital activities) the activity "marking of deer fence to reduce bird collision" (reg. 2(6)); (c) substitute in Schedule 4 (rates of payment for activities) a new rate of payment for management of hedgerows (reg. 2(7)); and (d) add to Schedule 4 rates of payment for management of ancient wood pasture, spring cropping and marking of deer fence (regulation 2(7)).

This Act applies to physical planning within a Physical Planning Area declared as such by a Municipal Council or Local Government Council. In declaring an area to be a Physical Planning Area, a Council may in its absolute discretion decide that one or more of the types of development specified in Schedule I shall not require permission for development, and it shall specify those types of development in the declaration. Whenever a council declares an area to be a Physical Planning Area it shall prepare a plan of that area.
