The Law includes 146 articles divided into seven Chapters: General Provisions (I).

The Law totals 78 Articles and is divided in the following Chapters and: I, Fundamentals of the Agricultural Law; II, Agricultural Production; III, Strengthening of Material and Technological Foundation of Agriculture; IV, protection of Agricultural Resources; V, Management of Agricultural Products. The Law highlights agriculture as one of the major pillars of national economy because it ensures the supply of food to the population and the production of raw materials to be destined to industrial and commercial utilization.

The stock of land in accordance with its destination is subdivided into the following categories: 1) agricultural land; 2) urban land; 3) industrial land; 4) land of protected areas; 5) forest land; 6) water land; 7) reserve land. The document consists of 5 Sections composed of 21 Chapters that contain 170 articles. Section 1 (Chapters 1-2) lays down general provisions. Chapter 1 (arts. 1-12) lays down general provisions. Chapter 2 (arts. 13-19) establishes competence of state institutions in the field of land relations.

This Act establishes the Guyana Lands and Survey Commission as a body corporate. The Commission shall be the successor to the Lands and Surveys Department.

La presente Ley tiene por objeto la demarcación en terreno y en cartografía, así como la preparación de mapas de zonas de riesgo que incluyan líneas limítrofes que delimiten: a) la zona prohibida; b) las zonas con restricciones parciales; c) la zona con restricciones severas; d) la zona de advertencia; e) los deslindes a los que se refiere el artículo 2.750 (2º párrafo) del Código Civil.

The present Regulation provides guidelines to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry on planning afforestation activities: (i) Preparation of afforestation projects; (ii) Selection of areas for afforestation; (iii) Organizing forest - social community relations; and (iv) Preparation of annual programs and location distribution tables. One year prior to afforestation, all trees and shrubs that are classified as non-economic will be cleared from the area.

The Director of Geological Surveys and any officer of his/her Department or any other officer authorized may enter on lands and undertake other actions set out in article 3 for purposes of carrying out geological surveys authorized by the Minister. A notice of survey shall be given in advance to the owner or occupier of the land in question. Surveyors shall not enter any closed courtyard, garden or other space pertinent to a dwelling house without the prior consent of the owner or occupier. Funds shall be made available for compensation of injury caused by the survey.

The present Directive aims to organize all means necessary to the implementation of the Land Law, with special regard to land management and the rational use and exploitation of land resources.

The Premier decrees that Regulation on federal cartographic and geodetic fund and the list of data included into them must be elaborated by the Federal Geodetic and Cartographic Service by agreement with the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Economy, State Archives, the Ministry of Finance and other federal executive bodies concerned that store data pertaining to cartographic and geodetic fund of the Russian Federation, and must be validated by the Government of the Russian federation.

The Premier decrees to validate the list of the following amendments. The modalities of licensing of geodetic and cartographic in the process of carrying out land survey and keeping state land cadastre must be coordinated with federal executive body on geodesy and cartography. Licences are issued by federal and regional executive bodies on land resources and land survey.
